Why Kuwait Decided Not To Build Nuclear Plant

Kuwait has decided to abandon its plans to build a nuclear plant, Kuwait Times reported.

The newspaper reported that Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity and Water’s decision to not apply for a United Nations license for the nuclear plant was based on studies showing that the project is unfeasible and too costly.

The ministry would spend money in solar energy and wind, according to the publication.

Kuwait needs water desalination stations and plans to build more power stations between 2020 and 2030, an official told the newspaper.
